IQlab / AUTOMATION
Automating the whole process
We identify where data originates, who makes decisions and which equipment must act, designing the workflow from event to outcome.
What the work covers
01
Equipment and software together
We connect sensors, controllers, RFID and databases, defining system states, notifications and operator actions. Existing infrastructure can be extended where appropriate.
02
Testing real operating scenarios
Acceptance criteria are agreed before implementation. We consider normal operation, communication loss, duplicate events and recovery. Scope and rollout stages depend on the project.
03
Interfaces & requirements
Agree on connections, constraints and expected system behavior.
From a manual operation to a controlled process
Automation starts by describing operator and equipment actions. We identify triggers, checks, decision points and completion acknowledgements. Responsibilities are then assigned to the controller, single-board computer, application and database.
Deployment scenarios
Examples include self-service terminals, card-based equipment issue, production-operation records and collecting events from multiple devices. In a standalone node, the computer provides the interface and business logic while the controller handles peripherals. The use case determines devices and protocols.
Exceptions are part of the project
We define responses to network loss, an empty dispenser, a printer jam and a power restart. Acknowledgements, repeated requests and unfinished-operation state are assessed together. This gives operators a clearer way to diagnose problems and resume work with context intact.
Before we begin
Can we start from an existing board or system?
Yes. Send a description, available schematics, files and photos. We first determine what can be retained and what needs to change.
How are cost and timing defined?
After discussing the problem, constraints and expected outcome. Scope and milestones are agreed for the individual project.
What do you need for an initial discussion?
A brief description, the existing equipment and essential functions. If you already have a specification, attach it to your email.
